Back pain? Blame the chair.

After four years of working from home

I finally discovered why most office chairs never fit petite women like me.

Last winter was brutal. I spent almost 9 – 10 hours a day at my desk. I’ve been working from home for four years, so long workdays aren’t new to me.

But this time felt different. By the end of the day, my lower back was constantly aching. The pain made me want to stand up every 20 minutes.

That’s when I noticed something. It was my chair.

I started researching why so many ergonomic chairs felt uncomfortable for people like me.

And the answer was surprisingly simple:

Most office chairs are designed around average male body proportions, which means if you're petite, the proportions are often completely off. The seat is too deep. The lumbar support sits too high. And your feet barely touch the floor. It never really fits your body.

After trying a few highly recommended chairs that still didn’t feel right, I realized I probably needed something actually designed for smaller frames. That’s when I came across the CabLady S2 Petite Ergonomic Chair.

What actually changed for me...

The first thing I noticed was the proportions. Instead of feeling oversized, the chair actually felt scaled to my body. The seat depth was shorter, so I could finally sit all the way back without the edge pressing against my legs.😍

Then there was the lumbar support. It's lower and closer to the natural curve of the spine. So instead of pushing my back forward, it actually supports it.👍

Another small detail I didn’t think about before was how much seat depth and support affect fatigue. I wasn’t constantly shifting around in my chair anymore. I could just sit and focus on work. By the end of the day, I still felt a little tired from work. But my back no longer felt like it had been through a marathon.☕

Looking back, it was simply that the chairs I had been using were never designed for someone my size. If you're petite and have been dealing with the same thing, I highly recommend you to take a look at the chair I ended up switching to - CabLady S2 Petite Ergonomic Chair - It’s one of the few chairs I’ve found that actually feels designed for smaller frames.
